TFS A340-200 Paintkit

the last couple of days I got spammed with AVSIM Lost Files mails :ninja: and after just quickly reading through them without much focus on which files are lost, I noticed the TFS A340-200 PK looks like to be hacked away from The Biggest and Best There Is Library
so here it is again (beside it’s never got lost at the Flightsim.com Library):

    Hi Boris
It is a funny thing how all the donations, (including my donations-plural-) didn’t really do allot except buy new computers for the staff, or so it seems.
There are allot of lost FS9 files and allot of FSX files.
    Just some observations.
I like AVSIM and I still donate five bucks a month.
I have been considering joining flightsim though to be honest.
    Nels runs a tight outfit.
God to see you back Boris.
    Roger :hallo:

I think I had a typo, Good to see you back. :hoda:

    :-P

I was never gone :hoda: I just had no mood to do any painting recently and there wont be much new things the next couple of weeks too

Well, honestly I don’t care much about AVSIM since a while, I never donated (except that I uploaded a couple of files there so they can continue their target to became “The Biggest and Best There Is Library”)
Of course there is no doubt that (AVSIM) is a great source for Flightsim and AI things, what I really like at Flightsim.com is the ability to upload via FTP, so you can upload let’s say 10 Files at once in less than a minute with only drag and drop, where you need at AVSIM for the same 10 files at least 15-20 minutes :depp:
At the end I think it’s good to have at least 2 great sources for Flightsim things…….

    :old: Hi Boris
I thought maybe you went to Germany to visit your parents again, things had been so quiet. You do allot of fantastic work, that is putting it mildly.
Boris, I have a question for you, concerning repaints.
You professional guys, like you and Rawlins and all those guys at Aardvark, TFS, etc. the guys that do package work, where do you get the logos for the repaints.?
    Are they decal sheets.?
Are you guys so good with Photoshop that you actually do those custom paints by hand?
I don’t see how you could be that precise in photoshop because I dont think the program can be that precise. It has limitations. Your repaints look identical to the real airplanes.
I know you are not cutting and pasting from photos.
I am not trying to become a repainter. I have no desire.
I do a few MIA’s for flight plans but that is about it.
Is there some trade secret you guys just don’t want amateurs to know.?
I have ask this question before to a couple of guys that were professional graphics people but never got an answer.
I don’t see the big deal, if they are decal sheets I cant get them.
I am not trying to be a graphics artist.
I just wondered how you guys that do real nice custom repaints that look identical to real airplanes, how do you do it.?
Besides, all the repaints are done, the ones that are not done, Jeurgan Baumbash does them so quick you would never have a chance at doing a repaint anyways.
That guy is like a robot turning out professional repaints.
I hope you can give me some kind of reply.
I will always stick to Ameriflight repaints anyways. :daumen:
I do envy you guys, the pro’s.
    Thanks Boris

Well I can only speak for myself, but I do Logos most times by hand, there is a site (http://www.brandsoftheworld.com/) where you can find many Airline Logos & Titles as esp files, I use it sometimes.
I can’t tell you how to make repaints, it would probably makes no sense at all for you :hoda:
the only thing what I did was learning by doing once you get to know your painting program, there is a lot of information on the net you have just to search for it once you reached a part that is making you headaches…… :-P
I’ll do anyway paints that I wanted to do even “Jeurgan Baumbash” or any other painter has them done already, I kinda like to do paints that are done already makes the never satisfied freeware hunters mad, because they think I should spent my FREE TIME for paints that are not already done :ninja:

    :-D Hi Boris
Well, that is the most honest answer I have ever gotten from what I call a “Professional package type repainter” of which I am not. Thanks for the clear answer that has eluded me for all these years.
I never could understand how you guys do custom paints, say like an Olympic Games repaint, and get it spot on the money.
Photoshop for me, is very difficult. Paint Shop Pro is easier, but it either lacks a professional edge or I am lacking the professional edge. :old:
I think it is me thats lacking knowledge, and it takes allot of practice to make simple repaints that look “right”.
I am very particular, so what may look like s#it to me may be okay for someone else, referring to my repainting.
You guys that do “package type repaints” have the quality that I have become accustomed to, but I cant physically do myself.
And I doubt I ever will be able too because for me, figuring out the paint programs without knowledge of how to use them correctly will always be a wall.
It reminds me of the high Jumpers when I was in school, I could see these guys doing these cool high jumps and I couldnt get three feet off the ground. :hallo:
But my older brother was an excellent high jumper.
    Go figure.
    Thanks Boris
Its always fun to exchange a few thoughts with you
    Roger :ninja:

    Hello Boris
One final thought here, (I know I am tearing this guys name up by trying to spell it), but Jeurgan Baumbash is either a pseudonym that someone or a group of guys are using, are the guy just flew in from outer space.
He just popped up out of the blue and he does very high quality work.
(I know he borrowed your light map and you dont like that)
I dont see how one person could turn out that many repaints unless that person is either:
    A: a robot
B: AI Aaardvark guys like Rawlins and Boback and company using that name.

Heck, where would one person find the time to that many repaints.? And the skill involved.?
    Just a thought.
I think it doesn’t pass the smell test for me, although I am grateful for the repaints. I guess that is all that matters.
Just be thankful and don’t question anything.
It is just like the Aardvark crew to pull a stunt like that though.
I like those guys sense of humor. :-D
    Later Bro
    Roger
